Each of the world’s great cities has an identity…

Make it in New York and you can make it anywhere. Chicago is Carl Sandburg’s “Hog Butcher for the World.” Paris is Ernest Hemingway’s “Moveable Feast.”

Granted, Atlanta is long renowned for the world’s busiest airport. But perhaps that’s just another reason why Atlanta used to seem like such a transient place, more of a stopover than a destination. Those days are over.

Today, Atlanta feels like it did in the early 1990’s, but without the expiration date (August 4, 1996 - the day of the closing ceremonies of the XXVI Summer Olympics). This time around, the momentum is durable and real: revitalized neighborhoods, new parks, bustling restaurants, bountiful opportunities, and, best of all, new people.

Lifelong Atlantans, folks who know a thing or two about growth spurts, are stunned by the energy. The new arrivals are too. Even the film industry has a nickname for this town: “Y’allywood”

Atlanta has always had a mind (fourth in the U.S. in number of Fortune 500 corporate headquarters) and a heart (five of the nation’s twenty largest non-profit organizations call Atlanta home, more than any other place). Now, it’s got a soul. This city has a character, an identity, rooted in welcoming playfulness, purposeful industriousness, unity and charm. Atlantans will make room for anyone, and we’ve got the traffic to prove it.

It’s the ideal place for smart, ambitious, diligent people who are motivated by more than just a desire to build something for themselves. That calling - to build for others - inspires us too. That’s why we’re so grateful for the opportunity to live and work in such a thriving, eclectic place.
